Often associated with wintry weather, a nice cup of hot chocolate or cocoa (and there IS a difference!) can hit the spot at any time of the year. The Mayans were drinking chocolate in Mexico as far back as 500 B.C., and by the 17th century it was a fashionable drink throughout Europe. Around the same time, the Dutch introduced it to North America where we fully embraced this delicious treat.
